"Amelia Brewerton is a British visual artist. She was received by Maria Colombo from Espacio Camargo and Hernán Rojo. In Buenos Aires she investigated behavior in Buenos Aires public spaces and how it is shaped by freedoms and social limits. She also examined the waste circuit and the recycling process. Hand in hand with the different workshops that hosted her, she was able to experience other languages such as sculpture, photography, and collagraph."

Gallery Lanzallamas 5.12.2019 behind featured, untiled piece from residency.
Worked based on visual experiences, from the city.
Week 1 & 2 spent in Camargo Studio
Explorations of public spaces, making printing plates and relearning techniques.
Initial sketches, photos and plates made from: La Boca, Resturant in Villa Crespo, Recoleta Cemetery, Museum in La Boca (view point)
Next steps initiated were deciding what it was i would be looking at visually. Inspiration from William T. H. Whyte, reviewed film "Plaza". Located myself at local cafe/restaurant in Palermo, 'Velvet' - positioning around roundabout.
Observations made on main and busy road, 'workers' moving from one area of the city of collecting waste/ discarded recycling between districts. Who takes positions in and around the road? What is left at the side of the road? What stays/can't leave the side of the road?
Interest in A ---- B location
Who's inside what are they doing? How are they occupying?
Sound scapes, emotion in spaces, buildings as cold, Lifeless, feelingless materials.
Juxtaposed to humans being warm, active, present and human in energy.
Architect, Ward Joyce, fellow residency artist asked me about my proposal "How did i want to make people feel? What was I trying to do in the space?"
